Training: Mr. Bob Fink, of Long Island Rescue Services, gave us an overview of the training courses that we can take advantage of, through his company. He is a Dive Rescue International Ice Rescue Instructor. Some of his courses include: Surface rescue, PWC rescue and recovery, Ice rescue, Diver emergencies (taught by hyperbaric specialists from Mather Hospital), as well as other courses. His presentation was well received. We asked him to give a course on hypothermia, in the fall. He also announced a seminar, to be held on Monday, 29 July, at 1900, at South Country's new headquarters (the old Hagerman Fire House), Montauk Highway and Dunton Ave., East Patchogue. This seminar will cover the newly created "Echo" responses to medical emergencies.

Innovations: A haul seine net with 12 inch by 12 inch mesh is being made for the Dory Rescue Squad, of East Hampton. The net is 1500 to 1800 feet in length, and will be used to retrieve drowning victims in the surf zone. More on this, in the next couple of months.

Next meeting is on Thursday, 08 August, 1930 hrs., at Patchogue Fire House. Anyone needing directions, please contact the Secretary.

Any corrections, comments, or additions, please contact the Secretary.
