Minutes of the January, 2001 BAMSAR organizational meeting, held at Mastic Beach.
Present: North Patchogue, Brookhaven, Mastic Beach, Mastic, Center Moriches, Coast Guard Group Moriches, Eastport,
and Westhampton Beach. Excused: South Country Ambulance.
An error has been discovered in the 2001 meeting calendar. June meeting is on the 14th, not the 7th, as written.
The location of the meeting has not changed. Secretary regrets the error. Thanks to our Webmaster, Tom Fleming,
for the correction.
Website looks good, and getting better every day. Thanks again, Tom.
DBA certificate will be filed within the month.
We need to fill out the paperwork for the Dive Rescue International courses to be held in May, by no later than
next month. All units attending these courses must have their rosters completed by no later than 05 April, 2001,
in order to attend. BAMSAR units will be given priority during registration, and it’s been recommended that first
preference for any open spots after that be given to Southold FD, as they were kind enough to extend us that courtesy
at their DRI course. Each hosting agency is asked to provide a P.I.O. for the media pool. Secretary has been asked
to invite Suffolk PD dive team as well. So far, Mastic has indicated 6 attendees.
Ice Rescue Drills:
Eastport: Sunday, 21 January, 1000, at Eastport Pond (by Legion Hall).
Muster at Eastport Firehouse at 0900.
South Country Ambulance: Sunday, 04 February, 0830- 1630. Fee: $150.

Dues notices will be going out this month. Dues are $100. Treasurer Bob Jaeger reports that as of this meeting,
a balance of $654.40 exists in the account.
SAR Operations Course:
Covers search patterns used by the Coast Guard. To be taught by the CG and the CG Auxiliary at the end of February/
first week of March. Course length is about 4 hours, and is highly recommended for all boat operators.
Meeting was turned over to Marc Sennick (CG Group) to chair elections.
