Minutes of the BAMSAR Board meeting, held 14 December, at Mastic Beach.





Present: CG Group Moriches, Mastic Beach, Eastport, Westhampton Beach, Center Moriches.



New Business:

23- 24 February, Dive Rescue International ice rescue courses at Lake Placid.

CG helo back at Gabreski AFB next year. Gabby Field is undergoing extensive refit, possibly to make it alternate Shuttle landing site, so, 2002 is uncertain for helo.

Search Pattern training for boat operators, will be in the Feb./ Mar./ Apr. time frame.

Center Moriches FD is looking for dive SOPs from any BAMSAR unit interested in sharing theirs, as they are starting a team in January. Any unit wishing to pass on their SOP, please contact either John Foley or Chief Paul Colon, at the Center Moriches FD, 301 Main Street, Center Moriches, NY, 11934. Thanks.

Requests for updates of all BAMSAR resources will be sent out at the end of December, with copies of the 2001 meeting calendar.

Please have them back no later than the February meeting, so that we may update our list in a timely manner!

John will update the “About Us” information, and pass it along to Tom Fleming for posting on the website (www.bamsar.org). The calendar will also be posted.



Old Business:

Continued discussion concerning upcoming Spring dive drills.

Elections next month.
