BAMSAR MINUTES

Minutes of the April, 2003, BAMSAR meeting, held at Center Moriches. Thanks to Chief Jim Murray for his hospitality.

Present: Bellport, Mastic Beach, Mastic, Center Moriches, Group Moriches, Eastport, Westhampton Beach.
Excused: Patchogue, Bayport, Brookhaven.

Old Business: Discussion was continued on the Dive Rescue 1 course. So far, we have commitments for 11 people. Bayport needs to confirm that they are sending 3. Final numbers must be in by no later than Tuesday, 15 April, or your spots will be given away. Dive Rescue already has signed up 3 people from East Hampton PD, 1 person from Southampton PD, and 4 people from out of state.
Bill Biondi reports that there is a possibility that we may need to share the YMCA pool for a short period of time, with the William Floyd swim team, on the first day of class.
Dive Rescue 2 level classes: Light Salvage: 13-15 September, 2003. So far, 14 are committed, with one more possible. Invitations will be sent out to other agencies, giving them until 15 July to respond. Classes will then be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
We could use some manpower to help with incidental work details associated with hosting the DR 1 course. If anyone is planning to attend in order to help out, please let Tim Dahlen, Tom Fleming, Bill Biondi or Craig Diaz know. Thanks.

New Business: .
Our website is up and running again. Some viewers may experience a small viewing problem, which may be solved by adjusting the resolution on your monitor.
The Coast Guard will be hosting an open house for Boating Safety Week on either the 17th or 24th of May (date isn't firm, yet), weather permitting. All units are invited to bring their equipment and show it off to the public.
Drill day with the Coast Guard may need to be changed, due to some security concerns, posed by District One. More information will be passed as soon as Group gets the okay.
Secretary sent out requests for updates to the Equipment Resource List. Please return them as soon as possible. Thanks.
Tim would like to do something to say "Thanks" from our organization, to Todd and Marc, when they're relieved, later this year.
