Minutes of the November meeting, at Mastic. Thanks to Craig Diaz and Bob Bautista for their hospitality.
Present: Brookhaven, Mastic, Mastic Beach, Center Moriches, Group Moriches, Eastport, Westhampton Ambulance, and
Westhampton Beach.
Training: Westhampton Beach would like to get some winter pool time in either the YMCA pool or the Lab pool. John
will look into contacting Kay Dellimore at the Lab. Anyone interested in going, please let both Tim Dahlen (325-8333)
and John Foley (878-9217) know- Tim for a head count, and John for obtaining the temporary clearances that will
be needed to enter the Lab.
Dive Rescue 1: tentatively scheduled for the weekend of 3,4 & 5 May, 2002. This is open to any divers or surface
personnel.
Dive Rescue 2: tentatively scheduled for the weekend of 11,12,13 & 14 Oct., 2002. Open to divers and surface
personnel who have their Dive Rescue 1 certification.

AGA Full Face Mask maintenance course: See below for course info. If you're interested, contact Bill Biondi (281-1731/

Old Business: Dive plan meeting with Jim Trappen will be held at Westhampton Beach. Date has been changed from
the 13th to Monday, the 19th, due to a scheduling conflict.
New business: None.
Security Info: Coast Guard remains on heightened alert. They are also awaiting word on funding and manpower. Meanwhile,
please continue to pass underway security concerns to them. Our involvement in more missions may, or may not change,
depending on how the CG is tasked/ funded. Group will get back to us when they have more information.
AGA Mask Maintenance Course
Given by Ocean Technology Systems/ Interspiro. Cost is $100/ student. 4-6 hours, depending on class size. The course
will be both lecture and hands-on training covering the following: 1) Regulator/ mask function; 2) Inspection and
cleaning of both internal and external components; 3) Breakdown (field-stripping) of the mask and second stage
regulator; 4) Repair, and replacement of parts; 5)Re-assembly of the mask and second stage regulator; 6) Troubleshooting,
testing and adjustment of the second stage regulator. Materials required: #1 Phillips screwdriver; 3/16" Flat
screwdriver; small awl (or, if you don't have an awl, a dental pick, or small paperclip will do); AGA mask (If
you don't have one, please let Bill know, so one can be provided); Interspiro Mini Test Kit (available by prior
arrangement- 25% discount to students, if purchased prior to class); Minor maintenance kit, if required, for your
mask (let Bill know if you don't have one).
Upon completion of class, the student receives an Interspiro Service Certification.
